Meet your new favourite Ibiza beaches

nIn group chats across the UK, there are friends frantically finalising their plans for the annual pilgrimage to Ibiza. There are ongoing debates as to which clubs to book tickets for, which hotel has the best atmosphere and how they plan on getting to the airport.

Ibiza will once again be holding the biggest parties of the summer (which you can read more about here) but during the day you need a place to relax. You need somewhere where you can top up your tan and unwind before the big evening ahead – you need a beach. And wouldn’t you just know it, Ibiza has some incredible beaches.

Whether you’re dancing until dawn or heading away from the club scene into the picturesque countryside you will find a delightful beach. So let’s meet your new favourite Ibiza beaches.

Ses Iletes

Close your eyes and picture your perfect beach. What do you see? Is it miles of soft white sand and crystal clear ocean water? Is the only thing you can hear is waves lapping on the shore? Are you stood beneath a cloudless sky? Open your eyes, you are on Ses Illetes beach.

This scene of paradise is situated in Formentera, a small peninsula at the southern tip of Ibiza, and regularly features on all the best-of lists. It has previously received the accolade of TripAdvisor’s top European beach and is the embodiment of tranquillity you have been looking for.

Cala d’Hort

We all love a beach with a view and there are not many in Ibiza that can rival Cala d’Hort. Perched on the south-west tip of the island you can wander down to this secluded cove and gaze out onto the mystical rock known as Es Vedra.

Shrouded in mystery, the rock provides the perfect setting to watch the dramatic sunsets. The beach itself is hugely popular in the summer months with people flocking here for its golden sand and delicious seafood from the clifftop restaurant Es Boldado.

Las Salinas

If there is one name everyone talks about when it comes to beaches in Ibiza it is Las Salinas. This stretch of coastline is a legend of the island with inviting ocean waters, soft sand and live DJs – what could be better than that?

The beach is surrounded by a nature reserve and you walk through a pine forest to find this retreat made for the international jet-setter. Grab a cocktail from the tiki bars and listen to live music until the sun sets on this Ibiza institution.

Cala Mastella

Enjoy the closest thing you will experience to a private beach at Cala Mastella. Tucked away in the north-east of the island, it is among the smallest beaches in Ibiza and you will fall in love with it from the moment you arrive.

While this cove is more rocks than sand, there are plenty of sunbeds and parasols to ensure you can have a blissful afternoon. Thanks to these stones the water is perfect for snorkelling and cooling off during the heat of the day.

Santa Eulalia

Santa Eulalia has gained a reputation as being the go-to destination for families coming to Ibiza so you know the resort has a beach to match. There is a pleasant atmosphere here with many people swimming in the shallow waters as well as taking advantage of the excellent watersports facilities.

The beach is flanked by a promenade which is lined with bars, restaurants and cafes which offers excellent views over the ocean.

Portinatx

As the resorts of Ibiza’s southern coast fill up during the summer months, there is a place where holidaymakers can enjoy an escape. Portinatx is a huge favourite among couples and young families thanks to its relaxed environment and its trio of beaches.

Portinatx is home to S’Arenal Gros, S’Arenal Petit and Playa Porto each of which are quiet coves where everyone can enjoy a day at the beach.

Playa d’en Bossa

Those big nights at Pacha and Ibiza Rocks Hotel can leave you in need of some serious relaxation. You’ve got to be at your best to go again so it’s a good job there’s an excellent beach to refresh yourself for the following night.

Playa d’en Bossa is the longest beach on the island and brings together a wide range of holidaymakers from families to party-goers. It is a great spot for water sports enthusiasts while there are plenty of bars and cafes for a bite to eat and drink.
