Although we have all been hearing a lot about Greece’s financial situation in the media lately, don’t let that put you off visiting this beautiful country and one of it’s many fine resorts such as the lively town of Malia on the northern coast of Crete, Greece’s biggest island!
Malia is a great little town to visit (although not actually little at all) and has become a very popular destination for clubbing enthusiasts due to the great selection of bars and clubs in the area, it is even said to be a rival to the popular clubbing areas of Ibiza and also another clubbing capital Ayia Napa, located in Cyprus. But if you’re not a clubbing enthusiast and prefer quieter holidays or family friendly holidays don’t let the towns reputation as a clubbing capital put you off, as there is still a vast amount to see and do to keep you and the family entertained without having to step into a clubbing area! This is mainly due to the town being split in two by the main road that runs through it, on one side is the New Town, which is the focus for the bars, clubs and general nightlife scene and on the other is the Old Town where you will be able to calmly explore the winding streets, check out the architecture and pay a visit to one of many of the traditional Greek restaurants, cafes and shops.
Another great attraction for everyone to enjoy is of course the amazing beach at Malia! Being nearly 5km long, the beach is perfect for all without the worry of it getting completely overcrowded! The beach is divided into separate areas with each offering it’s own cafes and restaurants and certain other nice and convenient services! You can also have your order brought straight to your sun bed! Now if that’s not luxury, I don;t know what is! If you would prefer to keep the kids out of the sea, there is also a pool area you can take advantage of! For the older kids and grown ups there is a great selection of waterspouts to try out including jet skiing and diving. There is also the opportunity to go on boat trips, which is a great opportunity to see the sea and surrounding outlying areas. Also, don’t forget about the sun as it can get fairly roasting when the suns out so make sure that you remember to bring a bit of sun lotion to safe guard against the harsh rays!
No matter what your preference, Malia makes a great destination for your 2012 holidays and if you are concerned about price, we have some great money saving holiday deals with our cheap holidays packages so get in touch today to find out a little more and book your much deserved Greece holidays today!
