The engagement has been made, the bridesmaids have been picked and the big day is not too far away there is only thing that remains – the hen party.
It’s the last chance to bring all the girls together before your bezzie mate marries the man of her dreams. If you’re gearing up for a summer wedding then now is the time to finalise and nail down where to go on the hen party. For all you maid of honours, you have the honour (sorry) of arranging the whole thing.
While the thought of staying in the UK may be appealing, here are our suggestions for giving the bride a send off abroad she’ll never forget.

If you’re looking for one last blowout then there are not many better places than Ibiza. Hit the iconic nightclubs of Pacha and Privilege and spend your mornings nursing hangovers on the San Antonio beach as the Balearic sun beats down.
Of course, if this is not your scene then head up to Ibiza Town to mix with the rich and famous in a much more relaxed environment. The island has everything that any hen do could want and the fact it’s only a two hour flight away makes it even more attractive. Oh, and you can get apartments in many resorts for reasonable prices.
There are not many places more picturesque than the French Riviera, so a hen party in Nice can be the luxurious trip you’re looking for. You can swan around the exclusive bars and clubs bumping into actors and pop stars or spend the day with a spot of retail therapy in the high end shops.
You can’t stop by the French Riviera without a spot of wine tasting and Nice is the perfect place for it. If you’re after something a little more exhilarating, as well as a tad more intoxicating, you can jump on a jet ski along to St Tropez. Fancy really splashing out? Then hire a catamaran and bask in the Mediterranean sun touring the region.
Speaking of mixing with celebrities, you’ll be falling over them in Marbella. The ‘no carbs before Marbs’ crew will be out in force but there is so much to love about this slice of the Costa del Sol and somewhere your girls can relax and get their tan on.
Here it is all about the beach. Enjoy champagne and cocktails or get involved with a day of beach Olympics, all the while basking in glorious sunshine. At night you can take your pick from the VIP clubs that dot around the resort and no doubt you’ll bump into the cast of The Only Way is Essex while you’re there. Reem.
If you think Amsterdam is an exclusively stag do destination, think again. The Dutch capital is a hive of culture from the beautiful flower markets and interlocking canals to the hedonistic cafes and red light district, you’ll find a hugely different hen party experience here.
Get to know the city with a guided bike tour, pretty much the only way to properly see Amsterdam, or swing by the Heineken Brewery to sample the finest beer the Netherlands has to offer. A canal boat is also a must and combined with a few drinks will make for a great time. Then at night, you can sample the delights of De Wallen…(that’s the Red Light District to me and you).
Packed to the brim with Irish charm, Cork is somewhat of a left-field hen party destination but it does not disappoint. It is not a place for wallflowers as this is a boisterous city and quintessentially Irish.
Embrace the Emerald Isle with a tour of the Jameson Distillery or try quad biking through the rural surroundings. However, when it comes to Cork the nightlife reigns supreme. Work your way through the traditional Irish bars with a pint of Guinness along the way. It may not be the first place to spring to mind but this corner of Ireland could be just the ticket.
