The UK was finally blessed with some spring time sunshine over the weekend (May 8th) with temperatures hitting the mid-20s. It was time to cut the grass, fire up the barbecue and bask in the sun with a few beers. It also allows us to look forward to the summer.
Are you planning a holiday for the coming months? If not, we reckon you should be. Europe is hotting up and June could be the ideal time for a week or two in the sun, especially since this UK heatwave will be gone before you know it. With that in mind, here are our picks for a summer holiday 2016 for June.

Get ready for the biggest party of the summer in the party capital of the world – Ibiza. All the biggest clubland artists will be packing their bags for three months of sun, sea, sand and huge anthems and you could be there too. Hit the daytime beach clubs, the party boats before hitting the likes of Pacha, Privilege and Amnesia until the sun rises again.
Grab your glowsticks, Ibiza 2016 t-shirts and dancing shoes and make this June a holiday you will never forget.
From the biggest party island in the world to one of the best diving spots in the world. Situated on the southern Cypriot coast, Larnaca is a city which boasts beautiful landmarks, stunning beaches and almost guaranteed sunshine. However the star attraction is the wreck of the Zenobia, a Swedish ferry which capsized in 1980, which has become a huge favourite among wreck divers.
It is not just this ill-fated vessel that provides Larnaca with worldwide appeal. The city’s beaches are renowned with Phinikoudes, Alaminos and Ellinas just some of the many tourist hotspots. On an evening you can stroll down to the marina and watch the yachts float while enjoying some delicious Cypriot cuisine.
A hop across the Ionian Sea and to one of our favourite Greek islands – Corfu. Whether you want a holiday of partying, family fun or total relaxation, Corfu has you covered with something to suit every taste. If you’re looking for a good night out then there is nowhere better than Kavos, revel in the atmosphere of the famous ‘strip’ and party into the early hours.
For something a little slower paced then head to some of Corfu’s unspoilt gems. Visit Issos beach, a beautiful stretch of coastline which featured in the classic James Bond film For Your Eyes Only or if you’re looking for family-friendly destinations then Perama and Roda will keep you and your little ones happy.

With pleasant temperatures and a beautiful shoreline, June is the perfect time to visit Bulgaria. The country’s Black Sea Coast has become a huge favourite among tourists due in no small part to the city of Burgas. If you like beaches, then you will adore this part of the world.
The resort of Sunny Beach is in Burgas and is what you would expect from a place carrying this name. It is the longest and widest beach strip in the region with wall-to-wall sunshine during the summer months. With a host of hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs catering for young and old alike, you will feel right at home.
The quiet and picturesque island of Madeira will provide visitors with a relaxed holiday this June. Perfect for the explorers among you, you can spend the day wandering around the magnificent landscape and gazing out upon the Atlantic. If you’re really lucky you may be able to spot a seal frolicking around near the shore.
During the day you can explore the capital Funchal’s new promenade or see the beautifully kept gardens that dotted around the town. Looking for the beach? No problem, head to either Calheta or Machico and you’ll find glorious white sands. Here you can spend the day soaking up some early summer sunshine.
